Unfortunately EG stopped allowing GMTOs awhile ago. I can't even remember how long ago that was now but it's been over a year at least.

Aren't Leffot and GF doing GMTOs for shell Galway boots? And I think GF has 2 other Galway GMTO open currently.

I am not sure its a true GMTO per se. Steve just checked the interest and then ordered the particular make up as his store's stock model. I.e there will be additional shoes available.
I suppose the shell one is a special order gmto

I'm not sure you could call any of these GMTOs in the purest sense. The way I think of a GMTO is the customer defines the makeup within the parameters allowed by the shoemaker and gets the minimum required amount of people together and orders what they want.

These appear to be something that the retailer was able to workout in advance with the shoemaker previously and then gave the customer a chance to order a pair. Skoaktiebolaget basically did this same thing even after EG said no to any further GMTOs. Skoaktiebolaget did this with the Galway in Walnut CC and Doak as well with EGs new Double Buckle Boot and some others.

Good Sir,

I'm certain you'd be pleasantly surprised at the individual MTO deal you're able to land yourself with a simple email to sales@edwardgreen.com. Additionally you can ask they ship Royal Mail/Parcelforce (upcharge) in attempt to pivot past the customs duties. Don't wait too long however...with Britain's EU succession in limbo and America's current economic steam the exchange rate is at a 10 year low. I was elated with the net landed cost of my most recent MTO order that I just finalized.

Cherrio.

I have a weird question to ask:  What do you think of Edward Green's shoe laces?

I own quite a few pairs of Edward Green RTW and MTO, and, the original shoes laces on my Edward Green shoes systematically break after just a few wears (like around 5 or 6 wears or so).  I wonder if this is because of my feet or something, but, on thee other hand, it only happens with Edward Green shoes... ?

Never had that happen after many more than five wears.

With me sometimes it happens that one of the OEM fitted laces breaks just about when the shoe is ready for a new heel.
Just how tight are you strapping your laces?

I wear my shoes laced pretty tight but that applies to all my shoes.  Oh well...  I was just curious.  Thanks for sharing!

Happy Friday gents!

Busting out the rosewood country car galways today. Might be some slosh today... New England can't seem to make up it's mind on whether we are still in winter or spring!

Update on the Utah Gold Galways.  Half a dozen wears and hardly showing it at all.  Supremely comfortable.  That is all.
