Up until today, Boston has been enjoying some great weather. However, winter decided to say hello, bringing about 6-8 inches of snow today!

Rocking the Rosewood Country Calf Galways to keep my feet warm/dry. The leather for these boots are phenomenal! Over the past few weeks, a lot of gentlemen here have praised the durability of this country calf. I am sure these will handle just fine through the rain, snow, slush, mud, etc. Just got to wipe them off whenever you get a chance! :slayer:

Stay warm/dry gents!

Awesome - nice vibrant colour in that shot, too.

Back in December I had inquired if EG had any availability to make a MTO from heather gorse (zug) leather. I am happy to report that they did have some of the stuff still available (enough for a mto but not a gmto they responded) and they did confirm my order on Wednesday.... they said they should be done by May, but based upon past experiences I am thinking more like the Fall. Just happy to get the confirmation back... biggrin.gif

What exactly is heather gorse (zug) leather?  And any benefits to it over county calf?

I think I will keep the actual make-up a surprise until it arrives, but I will say that it is NOT a boot, but a shoe model, on a dainite sole.

EG has Zug available but when I inquired, they informed me it was sourced from Horween.

Great looking pair of Galways. How does the leather hold up in the snow. I have a pair of 1000 mile boots that I wear in the snow. I have always been tempted to get a pair of Galways, but have been afraid they are too nice to actually function as snow boots. What has your experience been? Thanks.

The Horween material is different than the vintage stuff Edward Green previously used. Horween's Zug is likely respectable.

Very nice but treat them before wearing in the snow otherwise the leather may stain.
