Used to be very passionate about Panerai. Loved the brand for about 8 years. I still own one from 1998 (see my sig) and also a minty 16600 from 1996. Currently I much prefer the 40MM case of the Rolex over the 44MM case of the Luminor and also the timeless look of the Sub styled cases. Fits nicely under the cuff of any dress shirt, can't say that about the Luminor. I think a 39-40MM watch is the best size for a wrist watch, especially for well dressed men.

Something to consider is that Panerai's are currently taking a huge beating on the second hand market, lots of older Paneristi's are bailing out of the brand and moving their collection. Rolex on the contrary is going as strong as ever.

I had a few Panerai's, but when I consolidated they were some of the first to go. But I've always had a Rolex since my first luxury watch. For me it's either mostly Rolex or Patek, although I do have a Speedy Pro and one AP.

I love my Panerai. Had it for 3 years and it's been my daily. Would love a blnr but keep spending money on tailored clothing and shoes which prevents me from buying a new watch. Guess it's better for me lol

BLNR all day long.

I've never had a comment on my Rolexes. Either no one notices (most likely) or they look at me and assume it's a fake  Recently I have gotten a couple of comments on my Spectre Seamaster. My most commented watch is my old Breitling. Maybe five comments in twenty years.

They are great, but are you sure those are Cadogans? They look more like a John Lobb Philip II ?

I'm saving for PP 5711 happy.gif

I see who the real baller is....  ;)

I have a rolex datejust in two-tone that was a gift from my parents, but it's too 'flashy' for my work setting.  Also, as someone mentioned, I think 40mm is ideal for me in size, and the datejust is pretty small.  I do have a co-worker that wears a Rolex submariner and I'm probably the only one that notices it. lol  (I would like to buy one someday myself)

Got a delivery update from FedEx that my doak Berkeleys from Skoak arrive today.  Happy Friday indeed! :)

Love TT DJ! Especially if it's a gift from your folks.

So that was you who snagged last pair in size 8F from Skoak? I was eyeing them and let me know if sizing doesn't work nod[1].gif

yeah, the TT DJ is definitely a piece i'll keep with me and pass on to my son one day.  I'll still wear it for formal occasions, which probably won't be until July for my brother's wedding. haha

I picked up the 7.5F, so I went down a half size to accommodate the F-width, which I asked Skoak if it should work (normally 8E) and they said it should be good width-wise but slightly shorter.  So, fingers crossed it's a good fit!

Happy Friday gentlemen! Only a few more hours left in the work week until we enter the weekend!

Up until today, Boston has been enjoying some great weather. However, winter decided to say hello, bringing about 6-8 inches of snow today!

Rocking the Rosewood Country Calf Galways to keep my feet warm/dry. The leather for these boots are phenomenal! Over the past few weeks, a lot of gentlemen here have praised the durability of this country calf. I am sure these will handle just fine through the rain, snow, slush, mud, etc. Just got to wipe them off whenever you get a chance! :slayer:

Stay warm/dry gents!
