Is it me or does the 82 seem to be the default last for eg boots nowadays?

Anyone know how the sizing on the 82 compares to C&J's 325 last or Alden's Barrie/Modified/Trubalance?

All I can comment on is my experience, I wear an 8 d in the Barrie and a 8.5d in the 202 but I was advised the 82 is a little bit longer than the 202. The pair of dovers I have a smidge looser than I'd like so I will size down to the 8d when I order my boots next month. The choices are Epsom, Shannon, or Galaway. The Shannon is the leader but those galways make a case for be chosen.

Thanks for the info! I'm after some Galways, I think. The Epsom and Shannon are awesome, too, though. Now I've just gotta find a stockist with some in my size, or some at all, even.

I always go the mto route, sure it costs a little more but at eg's price point a little extra money isn't really that substantial. I like the ability to choose my materials and create exactly what I would like. Additionally the lead time allows the anticipation to build.

I figured I'd go RTW for my first one, since I don't really know my sizing for sure yet, and I don't live too close to a stockist. I'll probably go MTO after that, though.

Thanks! Now I really need to think about this, since I'm  6.5E UK - C&J 325 and 7E/7.5D - Barrie and TruBalance.

FWIW:
EG 82/888/33: 6.5/7E
C&J 325/348/337/363/365: 6E
Alden Barrie/TruBalance/Modified: 6.5D

EG 82/888 art best fitting lasted shoes/boots

Thanks--so I need to decide if I'm going to go with the same size as my Barrie, or half a size up from my C&J 325 boots. Would you say the 82 last is a decently wide last or should I go up half a size to compensate?
