When you say bad lighting, do you mean the small spots with glare, or are the colors on the picture slightly off as well?

I have the Galways in full walnut country calf and and also in a combination of both, the walnut colour is much darker then the dark oak.

Can anybody comment on the sleekness of the RL Arkin chelsea boots? They're on the 89 last.

Would they go well with a suit? Or is the toe too rounded?

For a chelsea boot I think it is pretty sleek. But do note that the toe is slightly squared and not round.

I purchased the Arkin boot on eBay about a week ago. I love the way it looks. But I stupidly thought (hoped, prayed) that a 9.5 / 10 D would fit me since I usually wear a 10 / 10.5 D. They are going up for sale on the B & S thread soon but let me know if anyone here is interested. I can PM you details. Price will be very, very good smile.gif

Agreed.
The contrast does seem to decrease in time from what I've seen on older pairs of that galway makeup.

NST is not for everyone but Dover is the best looking of them all. Unfortunately the toe stitching was not continuous.

Some Galway love! Pardon the bad out door lighting.

I'm q glutton for punishment. Aside from that however I like the aesethic look of the boot. All of my Aldens have speed hooks and I suppose I am just looking for something different.

Hope everyone else in the NE is fairing okay. I feel lucky that here in NYC, it was not too bad.

Thx! The only problem is that I don't like my other boots as much as I used to now!

Those Galways look great. Did you treat the leather prior to wearing them in the wet?
