I don't think I've ever knowingly handled it, but it might be going by different brand names. I'll pop into EG next time I'm on Jermyn Street and indulge in a spot of industrial espionage

Any thoughts on the lined Galways? Good? Excessive?

I dont own any lined Galways so I cant speak from experience, but i would think if you live in a really cold environment, your feet tend to get cold, and you spend a good amount of time outside then its probably worth it. I live in Boston which is cold, but never needed anything more than a good pair of socks, so not sure i would get lined galways. I have always wondered though if the lining wears down faster or gets funky before the rest of the boot is worn down.

According to EG it is some French Tannery, and Hermes also uses the same leather for their stuff. So we do have it narrowed down to France.

Yeah, I'm in NYC so I do quite a bit of walking. I think the lining is only on the shaft so I don't think the actual foot area gets too warm.

EG is explicit. The Haas tannery is the source of Delapre and Utah:

Thank you for the articles. I do find it somewhat amusing that the EG article specifies "every calf used is French". You certainly wouldn't want a hide from Belgian cow sneaking into a Hermes bag or a Galway...

Seems like Delapre (referencing a previous comment in this thread) is really a chrome then veg tanned leather without the pullup effect of Horween CXL then? While Utah is just a scotch printed version of it?
