They salt pretty liberally here in NYC so Alden's Leather Defender alone won't cut it.

Thanks SuitedDx.  I'm in Toronto, and there is a ton of salt on the sidewalks during winter. Not that I would take them out in a snow storm, but after the fact, the salty puddles can definitely do some damage.

In regards to Obenauf's, there is some interesting discussion here against using it.  I've used it on a few pairs of cheaper boots and haven't noticed any ill effects.

Insane. #1.

It's a Galway day for me as well. I can't stop starring at my feet each time I wear any of my EG haha

I received my first pair of Edward Greens yesterday and they're fantastic!

It's been a gradual move from red wing -> wolverine -> viberg -> carmina -> G&G -> EG

This definitely won't be my last pair of EGs though! I would love a pair of Shannons and a pair of Galways.

I was on the fence between a 8.5E and 9E. After getting some sizing advice from a few different sources, I went with an 8.5E. My Trubalance sizing is 8.5D for reference. I wear medium weight socks with my boots and they fit perfectly. They're snug, but not uncomfortably so.

I'm starting to think I'm just not a high boot guy. I put on my new Galways the last two mornings with casual trousers (chocolate cords and heavy green cotton twill) and eventually took them off and put on something else. I know you guys are going to tell me I'm nuts, but I don't know...

I went the opposite direction. EG/Lobb/Vass to Alden/Viberg.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Alden. They should be between wolverine and viberg. I still have all of my Vibergs though and a couple of Aldens.

HI i'm about to purchase my first Edward Green to see what its all about. I usually wear a 10.5UK in all John Lobb Paris, does the Edward Green run True to Size?

I also had question about the rubber sole. You guys think its ok to wear the Chelsea with a rubber sole?  Thanks for your input!
