loves me some tobacco suede, especially with very light gray (grey) flannel.

The ecton is sleeker in appearance and more 'dressy'. The dover is more casual imo.

I like both. Two separate categories really for me. Most if my shoes are EG but Alden is the second in my collection.

I don't categorically dislike split toes. Just most of them including NST and dovers. Too phallic in my eyes.

I do like Vass Norwegian however.
