Sorry, but AFAIK thats not correct. The Galway can only be done on the 82 or 64 last through a standard MTO. Any other lasts would require TD.
They seemed to think they could in the store on Jermyn St. They wrote it all down for me too. Perhaps they are wrong.

What does TD mean?

hoodog, could you inform us what is TD?

The Galways above are made on 202 last, so it's clearly possible ..

Top Drawer. It's a program EG has beyond standard MTO (like last changes) and the entire shoe is built by a single craftsman from start to finish

The Galway on 202 from Leffot seems to be from 2009. EG has since restricted their MTO policy so you can only choose certain lasts for each model.

This is all correct. I didn't mention TD because the OP was trying to not go MTO.

Of course its possible - anything is. But as a single person getting a regular MTO, it isn't. Stores like Leffot might be able to get another deal from EG, since they usually stock up on a specific make-up. However, EG has become very restrictive with what you can change on their models and nowadays possible last changes are pretty few - normally just a selection between two or maybe three.

Oh, top drawer. The prices I was quoted were definitely not for TD.

Well, a while ago another poster in this thread claimed that the people at the Jermyn Store had told him that it was possible to do the Chelsea on the 888 last through a regular MTO. After discussing it here and checking again with EG, it turned out that this was incorrect and that the Jermyn Store people were just wrong.

Well this doesn't bode well then. I shall contact them and let you know. The 202 10B was a really decent fit, which is uncommon, so it will be a shame if they can't offer it short of top drawer.

Don't take my word for it, of course. Just make really sure they give you correct information. Good luck! And please report back when you know more.

Interesting I was under the impression that Westminster is only made on 888 last.:puzzled:

I have both the 82 and the 888 in the Westminster - maybe the offerings have changed since I bought them.

Lucky I ordered these last year then - or maybe the year before.
