I almost never see SCs on sale and they're $1600 at LeatherSoul.

Would love to know too

I'll just let this fact stand on its own: Leather Soul's latest SC MTO offering, the PC Boot, is $2,300 with lasted trees.

It's LS MTO.

SC were structured to produce shoes at or below JL/EG prices, not sure if its still the case after Michael Rollig left in 2009.

Is that made with the ridiculous Russian calf found from that sunken ship?  Crazy story behind that.

calf print imitation.  not russian reindeer leather.

I'm not advocating for or against it; rather, I am listing the price as a point of fact. There was previous discussion of EG and SC prices, so I thought a very recent LS-SC offering, and its listed price, was relevant to the issues at hand. Personally the boot does nothing for me, but that's beside the point.

where did rollig go?

He left to start Zonkey. Their stuff might not be to people's taste on this forum, but they're really nice (some even quite conservative) when you see them in person.

his shoes remind me of Rider boot co

I've never handled Riders in person, so I can't say. Online, I can see the similarities, but there was an appreciable lightness to the Zonkeys, which I thought was similar to my SCs.

More SC than Rider.  In both last and construction.  Pretty much a mass market value SC.  Just another part of the family business (Rollig still has shares in SC and Car is his cousin AFAIK).
