I see, EG are "affiliate members of SF" so we can only say nice things about them - right? Well, I say what I think, and if I think something stinks I will say it stinks, period.
And no, I actually don't have a problem with Edward Green. Like I said, I RARELY if ever buy any of their stuff. Why? because I think their products and service are sub standard and that they are not the quality product they once were. I prefer other products, so shoot me!!!
And no, I am not so sure issues with EG are as rare as you claim, take a proper look through SF forums, and AAAC forums, aww heck there have even been sellers on e-Bay not so long ago trying to get rid of other terrible nightmare experiences from Edward Green which they were saddled with and which they could not get rid of, even on eBay.
Since you are so concerned I will try to find copies of those eBay sales for you to see for yourself how common these problems actually really are. You can look through SF forums yourself and find where other people have had problems, I'll leave you to do that yourself.
Are all these stories true? Are they all lies? who knows? Heck, who the hell cares? all I know is I have bought a pair of shoes from a friend which are pretty darned rat shit and which were recently produced by EG and which EG apparently refused to resolve or explain.
I'll let you go figure that one out for yourself.
By your own admission you only wear EGs RTW range, good luck with them and I hope you enjoy them, but these are not RTW, they are not even their overpriced MTOs, these are the rather more expensive over-priced Top Drawers. How amny Top Drawer shoes do you own?
I am willing to bet that you are one of those consumers who actually believes the myth that EG's "lasted" shoe trees which come with the Edward Green range of shoes really are actually lasted? If generic shoe trees in a supposedly "superior" shoe is what turns your lights on, hey, I am cool with that, go buy as many as you like, heck I will even encourage you, but don't attack me for thinking a lasted shoe tree needs, at the very least, to be actually "lasted" in order to be sold in all honesty as a lasted shoe tree.
If you are satisfied with the quality of the EG Sandringhams which I posted, and these were manufactured only a few months ago, well then I am even happy to sell them to you since you are such an enthusiast.
How about half the retail price? would that be acceptable? Only Edward Green does not produce lasted shoe trees for their shoes so the generic Edward Green shoe trees which came with these shoes and which the box falsely claims to be "lasted" are the only shoe trees I can supply with them. We can pretend that they really are lasted just not to offend anybody's sensitivities shall we?
Let me know if you want them, half price, I think that is fair and reasonable for this new and unworn pair of "Top Drawer" Edward Green shoes, don't you?
Perhaps, when you receive them and when you realize EG will probably not own up to this mess, maybe you might also wish somebody had warned you before you were suckered into buying them!
And no, I did not trash G&G, in fact I am trying to get hold of somebody who actually sells MTO and bespoke G&G because the only shoe retailer I trust has terminated all business with them. My retailer refuses to sell any of their products to me.
Actually, my retailer is an affiliate vendor on SF, perhaps you could accuse him of trashing the G&G product as well because he refuses to have anything to do with them?
Wanting to buy a pair or two of G&Gs products does not make me an enthusiast, I doubt I would ever be an enthusiast, but I can understand why other people are enthusiasts and there are aspects of their product range which I do appreciate. I might even own a few more pairs if I can find somebody who actually sells them.
Again, shoot me for not being in love with G&G and shoot me for sending out unanswered e-mails.
Does everyone really have to run about blindly worshiping every product in these forums? Is there no space for doubt, for criticism, for alternative views?
WTF??
