Those boots would look so much better without the extra seam on counters.

+1 I hadn't noticed it before you mentioned it, but you are very right.

Hendrix, who is your maker and why get a copy of the galway and not the real thing?

Seeing as you put it like that...'scuse the flash (much less contrast between suede, shearling and calf in natural light), proper pics in a couple of days...

Did you get yours straight from Edward Green? or another retailer?

Direct from Jermyn Street. They called me on Monday to let me know that they'd found a pair in my size and I bought them there and then.

Wow. Those look like they have veldtschoen construction. Is this true? My Galways have a fudge welt.

Yeah, they're one of EG's stock veldtschoen boots alongside the models in almond country calf (which I have) and the rosewood country calf model, all on the 64 last. Should be a great boot for a wet English winter.

The boots came on last 89, material is 'Scotland Calf'', a leather EG does not offer at present and are in a very dark brown (bitter chocolate).
The leather sole comes in a HAF (1/2 mid-sole) configuration.

At least that were the details when EG produced a batch for RLPL in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I only have EG on last 82 and 888, I have C&J in 337. I take half a size up in EG shoes over 337. From what I have hear all 202 should fit the same as 82 and 888 length wise but 202 might be a little wider. So I would recommend you take EG 202 last in 8 E UK. It is best if you can try it on.

Go up a 1/2 size from C&J 348. The 202 is wider, and not elongated.
