PSA: Sky Valet Shoes will not be carrying EG any longer - once its current inventory is sold out. Perhaps this is old news, but I hadn't heard of it until today (spoke to them earlier today).

Very Sad...Any idea what or if another brand will be replacing EG?

skyvalet has/had the most unispired collection of EGs I have seen anywhere. Even big chain brooks brothers has a more interesting, albeit also more expensive one. Unipair is another example of a store with very good offerings.

edit - nevermind, their is hope, they have a pair of galways as their EG icon

I'm hoping that Sky Valet has enough stock so that I can determine my size in several lasts, specifically the 888 & 82. They also have a few Carmina styles, so I'm going to see what size I wear in the Simpson last.

In Sky Valet's defense, they carried Edward Green shoes before many other stores existed, e.g. LeatherSoul and Leffot. The range carried by Sky Valet was/is very narrow, but they sell in DC without a material ecommerce operation; DC is a sartorial wasteland where EG's price tag and styling simply will not fly with many potential customers. In general, it's my observation that DC is not as robust a market for menswear as other major US cities. If Sky Valet had diversified their range, I am skeptical they would have seen strong sales increases. Furthermore, why are people so obsessed with special store makeups? You are always welcome to place a MTO or Top Drawer order through any EG retailer.

why? why would anyone want to pay a premium and wait 6-12 months for a model that another retailer may carry?

I have no objection to the models Sky Valet carried. Models like the Dover, Chelsea, and Belgravia, while more conservative, are hardly boring, IMO. Perhaps those who object to such an inventory are looking for models like blue boots or olive boots (Unipair) or Berry or Clove Suede (Axels). Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Namor,

If another retailer carries a makeup one wants, then by all means one should order that makeup. I recognize the allure of special in stock makeups. However, there is something fun, and possibly even more special, about placing a unique MTO, particularly if you have fit issues, or are a former bespoke customer.

I have multiple MTOs (including Top Drawers), stock models, and store special makeups. Yet, I want to point out that in my experience, retailers will regularly waive the MTO fee or include shoe trees and/or other sweeteners to offset the MTO fee partially or wholly.

As for the wait, I have no idea what the current turnaround time is for EG MTOs and Top Drawers. I think the delivery time does fluctuate greatly. But patience is supposed to be a virtue. Cheers.

Sky Valet is clearing most of their EGs at $875, is that considered a low price for a pair of Beaulieus in Dark Oak?

Almost everything they have is out of stock. Call them and don't use the website if you are able.

Turnaround at EG seems to run 4-5 months.

I don't know about that, I ordered a MTO pair of Shannon's back in February, 8 months ago, still no sign of them.

youre right. thats exactly what we want. just look in this very thread over the past 3 days:
Here is the picture of the Monmouth I picked up for myself. Rosewood Country Calf, beautiful colour
I will take some picture's and list a pair tomorrow at cost plus postage.(Galway Dark Oak/Mink Suede in Size 9.5E 82 last ) First to pay can have them have them
I have listed a pair of my conniston shoes for sale , please do have a look , I have not worn these for a while, someone can make better use of them. They will remain here for a week before I list them on e-bay. Size is UK 8 on the F606 last.
Very close to what I have in mind. Dark Oak Antique body with (Dark Oak or Edwardian) Facing & Mink Suede Shaft. HAF sole 82 With Andrew Type perforation
These please.. I'm ready for the deposit.
I am going to get a pair of Galway in Edwardian. But Shannon in Edwardian is nice too  What about shaft mod, suede? I don't know if we have enough interest for 6 identical Shannon... ap10046, those are nice too but I want to stick with 82.
You mean their catalogue? http://issuu.com/edwardgreen/docs/edward_green_catalogue We are talking about MTO Shannon with 888. How about this Shannon MTO: Edwardian Antique body with Edwardian Facing & matching Coffee Suede Shaft. HAF sole 82 With Andrew Type perforation(?) Pics: Manton but w/ 606

After my Galways get here, I will be placing another order. I was considering the malvern or inverness in chameleon like the make up above. The pics I've seen have varied greatly. Is the color generally closer to the color above or the more greenish hues I have seen posted lately?
