Few cigars will benefit from a decade of aging; most will have lost a substantial amount of flavor at that point. Unless you are hoarding davidoff dom perignons i'd smoke em after 5 yrs max

So what? There are cuban cigars that come in cello, are machine made (even short-filled instead of single leaf), cost like 4 or 5 bucks each, and are quite a pleasant and inexpensive smoke. Quinteros are one that come to mind, as do Partagas chicos.

You don't have to smoke a $40 dollar stogie every time you light up in order to enjoy the taste of a decent cigar.

everyone has their own personal tastes and opinions. the Brits and similarly influenced (read Hong Kong) serious* cigar smokers/collectors are quite well known for decades old stashes. many of them don't like to smoke anything under 5 years old.

smoke what you like, like what you smoke

*in Min Ron Nee's Encyclopedia of Post Revolution Cuban Cigars he states that in HK you are considered to be a serious collector when you have 10,000 or more boxes.
