I don't have bunions on either foot, but my right foot is painful at the site where a Tailor's Bunionette usually occurs(outside of the foot, 5th metatarsal). I usually take off my right shoe every 2.5-4h of wear. This does not happen with my 12D calf skin AE shoes(98% of the time) and especially not with suede.

Does this mean I am not destined to wear anything on the Simpson Last?

yes. ive had that problem in rain suede. it went away after a while bc it seems suede is more prone to stretching.

A respected affiliated vendor on SF advises the latter also. But from what I've read in this thread, most stick to their Rain last size. Anyone want to shime in?

Usual suspects, all normal/standard width:

C&J (337, 348): UK7,5

Edward Green (888): UK8

G&G (GG06, MH71, TG73): UK8

Vass (U, F): EU41,5

Carmina (Rain, Forest, Inca): UK7,5

Carmina (Simpson): UK8

i stuck with my rain last size and the uetam loafer is snug but not extremely tight.

Thanks. I tried on a pair of suede in size UK7,5 (my Rain last) and it fit snug, which I prefer. So I carried on and purchased a pair in calf in the same size, and the difference is very noticeable. I can hardly wear it for more than 1-2hs before it becomes painful. I'll have to figure out what to do with them.

I just bought two pairs of boots from carmina the jodphurs on forest which fit fantastically and the chelseas on rain, which are a bit looser than I would prefer.

I think that if they are a bit loose out of the box I should probably return them, right? They will only get more loose with wear and too big chelseas would be pretty bad.

depends on what you consider loose.

but chelseas should be more of a snug fit to begin with though

Are they same size? And you can try them thick socks other wise if you are not happy return them & get size smaller I guess.

An Inca last question:

Did everyone go with their rain or forest last sizing for their Inca cordovan or inca calf double monks?

Or did you size down?

Most people take same size on all of those last that you mentioned. But some go up on forest boot. That depending upon preference thing if you prefer thick or normal dress socks.
