The Official Carmina Sizing Thread - Page 60

AE 5 Last: 12D(Excellent fit)
Carmina Rain: 11.5UK(great fit)
Carmina Simpson: ?

11.5UK in the rain(Oxford) fits me well(large tongue pad in left shoe and a small one in the right shoe). There was heel slippage but it has all but gone. The shoe is nice and wide across the forefoot; I have a low instep and very low arch. The feeling is very comfortable, but I'm not sure how much extra room I have in the forefoot. Should I keep the same size or size up 1/2? I'm afraid the length won't be a good thing.

Question on how the Alcudia fits compared to the Simpson.

My Simpsons are a bit tight in the vamp, particularly on the the big toe mound of my right foot. That said, after about 5 wears they are breaking in pretty well. How does the Alcudia compare to the Simpson? Was thinking about the 973 boot, but if it's tighter than the Simpson I may want to pass.

I have both in Oxfords in 9.5UK. Alcudia works for me where Simpson is too tight. Alcudia has a higher instep and vamp and I think the way the shoe fits changes how it creases. My Simpson captoes crease right on top of my toes and make it tighter on my pinky toe. Both are narrow, but Alcudia fits my foot much better, more room across the forefoot, if only by a little bit.

Just what I was looking for, thank you!

You're welcome. I'm a "D" width in US sizing with a higher than normal instep. Alcudia fits me best out of all the Carmina lasts. Was snug at first but it fits the shape of my foot perfectly. Rain is similar but slightly bigger overall and wider in the heel.

Seemed to miss this thread.

Size 8D across the board in all of my Allen Edmonds dress shoes in all lasts.

I'm looking to purchase the model 732 in the rain last since it looks much more sleeker than the forest last.

Would I be a 7.5UK?

I go down a full size from AE to Carmina, Rain included.

10.5 d flat feet, went with a 9 soller snug fit buy still a bit loose in the heels. I think Simpson/Robert may be a better fit at 9.5 UK by will rain also be too to roomy in heels?
