I gather it would be 8UK.

The ball of my foot fits really nice and snug (seriously, perfect), but I'm getting the feeling that they're a tiny bit too big on the heels, especially on the right shoe. When I pick up my foot, my heel slips just a little bit, and I'm honestly not sure if that's supposed to happen at all. I took a bunch of photos and lumped them into an album, so if you guys could take a look at them and tell me what you think, I would really appreciate it.

The photos with the pen are for indicating how much my foot moves when I lift up my heel to take a step: The bottom of the pen points to where the top of the shoe ends when I'm not stepping.

Are these too big, or am I freaking out and being paranoid? Remember, the ball of my foot fits perfectly on both feet.

Cheers.

Edit: I rolled up my jeans to get clearer photos; I have no intention of going full pilgrim with the buckles and high pants.

This is interesting, as I found myself in the same situation with my Inca-lasted double monks: They feel like they're slightly big in the heel, especially on the right shoe. After wearing them for a couple hours, the slippage did diminish. If there's any more slippage at all following a full day's wear, I'll probably add a thin insert per bdeuce's suggestion.

Diglett, after having these for a couple weeks now, how do you find them to fit?

Oh, and for the record, I'm a spot-on 9E on the AE 5 last and went with 8UK for the Inca.

People with 9 or 9.5uk alcudia lasted shoes can you provide outsole measurement?

Kind thanks.

Am contemplating boots and am torn between the Alcudia calf perf-tip and the Soller shell cap-toe. Best fitting shoes I own are Aldens on Hampton last in 7.5D, Barrie lasted 7D's, and C&J 6.5E on the 325 last. I also do well in AE PAs in 7.5D and Alden Aberdeens in 7E.

C&J Bradford in a 7E (341 last) is a bit too wide.

Carmina Sollers 6.5? Alcudia 7?

^ I'm the same size in AE PAs (7.5D) and Alcudia 6.5 is perfect for me.

I had a dream last night that I rented a house at the beach & found a pair of Carmina shell bluchers in the closet. I tried them on & thought, "So 9.5 is the right size after all."

So, am I right in thinking that my 10.5US on the Brannock (10E AE, 10D Alden Barrie, 9.5UK med Cheaney + Barker + AS) is probably a 9.5 on the Rain and Alcudia? I'm considering the green shell wingtips, the navy wholecuts, or the saddle Alcudias (http://www.styleforum.net/t/241469/carmina-shoe-p0rn/225#post_5246237) as my first Carmina order. Any suggestions?

I emailed Betty, & she suggest I go with 9.5. I ordered the green shell wingtip bluchers on the Rain last on Sat., & they arrived this morning. The fit is perfect; they're comfortable right out of the box. The toebox is just right, & they're not tight across the vamp. I'm getting a little heel slippage w/ thin socks, but they should be just right w/ slightly thicker ones.

Got some Carmina Jodphur boots today on the forest last that didn't fit. If you're a 6E UK, check out the link in my signature.

^what size are you normally in c&j or other shoes and what size in those would be ideal?

thanks fritzl, considering everything as I am going mto

I wear a 7D on the Alden Hampton last and a 6E on the C&J 337. For almost everyone else my size, the 6E on the forest last should fit. However, my right foot is slightly bigger than my left and the right boot was just too tight in the toebox.

Ah gotcha, thanks.
