The Official Carmina Sizing Thread - Page 89

Seeking sizing advice. I don't own any Carminas, but I am wanting to purchase a pair of suede chukkas on the Rain last. I keep thinking that I should go with 8.5 UK, but I have a nagging feeling that prevents me from confirming my order.

I am a 10 D on the Brannock, I'd say the narrow side of medium. I have a narrow heel and medium forefoot. My long toes run a little squared off, with the pinky toe splaying out when I walk.( Edit: It's actually the second toe from the end splaying out and pushing the pinky toe out further.) I have a lowish instep.

All sizes are medium equivalent.

C&J 348 (Tetbury, Lingfield, Cottesmore 2) : 8.5 UK
C&J 341 (Cottersmore) : 8.5 UK
C&J 325 (Islay style, but made on the 325) : 8.5 UK
C&J 335 (Skye) : 9 UK
Loake 026 (Kempton) : 9 UK
Alden Trubalance (Indy and Jumper) : 9.5 US
Alden Barrie (Plain Toe Boot) : 9.5 US, very sloppy heel and tight toebox
Converse Chuck Taylor : 9.5 US, snug
Red Wing Classic Moc (1907) : 9.5 US
Nike Running Shoes : 10.5 US

Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

I wear the same size in rain as 348. For Simpson I go up 0.5

Thanks guys!

Based on the provided input and reading through this entire thread and a few others, I am going to go with 9 UK if I end up purchasing a pair of Carmina chukkas. It was my CJ 348 sizing that was throwing me off the most, but I always wore dress socks with those boots and will end up wearing thicker socks with suede chukkas.

After doing an extensive amount of reading while trying to figure this out, I got to thinking about a pair of Enzo Bonafe chukkas and will explore that as an option before I make a decision.

Thanks again!

Hi all, wondering if you have any advice re sizing.  I current own some 13.5UK EE rain oxfords and have the above issues.  Would going EEE rectify this?  Or would this be too wide?  What about another last?  Or am I just screwed as I am with every other brand of footwear.......?

I own two shell cordovan boots on the soller last in UK10.5. However, the same size on the rain last (in boots) and inca last (in oxfords) feels long (i.e. I am having heel slippage). Is this because of the way boots lace up vs. oxfords? Has anyone else noted the same? Thanks for your help.
