I picked up a flyer on the new Moooi boutique concept by Marcel Wanders at Forum Diffusion in Paris. Here is the "revolutionary" concept:
you chose your naked sofa, then your "special" covers, feet, and voila, you have your new exclusive moooi sofa by marcel wanders. Everything is supposed to be in stock, you can walk home (just like IKEA
) with your new sofa.
The brochure depicts a women cartoon who wants to change sofa, just like another handbag: it's easy now, just buy a new stylish unique cover with quality detailing.
It didn't take long for B&B to further its ridiculous attempts at throwing in "fashion" in the world of furniture design: who wants to keep a sofa for a lifetime, when you can have a "new" sofa every year covered with "creative, stylish and detailed 'dress'".
