That may be truer for one your age than mine. But yes, I get your point. Today Brioni means high-quality ready-to-wear. Still, the brand capitalizes on its bespoke past in many ways. I doubt there are many who buy Brioni who are unaware of the firm's history on at least a superficial level.err, it doesn't matter how it started, Brioni is now known and maintain its prestige due to its ready to wear operation. Bespoke is an irrelevent part of the menswear marketplace, unlike haute couture which has at least a promotional value for womenswear...
Personally I'm happy that Richard doesn't insist on adding hand-beading to my suits.... (not that bespoke could compare with haute couture anyway).
