I explained him that was not wood . He still not convinced ! He recons if it look like wood , feels like wood and makes noises like wood (when he walks) it must be wood ! I maybe wrong. But unless someone can show some “Real Description” from official manufacturer…
I have heard of wooden heels but I think its more of colour like cordovan is not necessarily Shell Cordovan.
My0.02 !

What if I told him a duck could pull a truck?

Wooden soles can indeed exist.  These from Officine Creative are an example; http://www.mrporter.com/am/product/181251?cm_mmc=LinkshareUS-_-ProductFeed-_-Acne-_-Formal&siteID=J84DHJLQkR4-KBpLrX98HZ7aV1Rc_mMTFA

Alyways remember to get a wooden sole covered though.

Also important: Wood does not bend. Leather does. Bending is pretty important for the sole of a shoe.

Thank you! My God....it's threads like this one that remind me why I have only like, fifteen posts on this site.

Here's a TRUE story: I went into the Zegna boutique on Madison Avenue in NY about a year ago....picked up a shoe. Commented on the rigidity of the leather sole, without using the word, "leather" to the salesman I was speaking to. He says, "Yeah, it's stiff like that because it's made of wood."

I said, "Aaah....I see...." and thanked him, and walked out. Have not been back in since. Frightening!

It is common to see these confused (though I am sure, well-intentioned) souls refer to leather soles as wood soles.
They may have read, for example, the words 'oak bark tanned soles' and concluded the soles were made from oak.
Clearly they know nothing of either shoes or wood for that matter. Once in awhile this even works to a buyers advantage when the seller doesn't understand what they are selling.
Therefore,.......erm....what was this thread about again?

Clogging, I believe.

That is really a good point. And for human being to walk properly we will have to bend our feet which is not possible with wood. Some one could argue that "Ply Wood" will bend. True. But then ply wood has greater chance of snapping in half. And as I said earlier that due to Poor shock absorption of wood you will feel pain walking on them .

The entire sole being wood sounds wrong, but shoes with wooden heels certainly do exist.
