Let's go on to the next one: fly on semi-formal trousers...what's more proper, button or zipper?*
* Or should it be fly-less?
If I stick to playing Devil's Advocate as in my last post, I believe Mephistopheles demands a whole host of flies.
Pardon me, but one is still waiting for a ruling on proper universal hats that might be worn in summer with black tie rig.
What is the universal standard?
Is it truly a boater with black grossgrain ribbon?
FYI: a button fly has the virtue of expediency when proper technique is matched with the promise of a moment of passion. Taking in the esthetics of sound, when undone, the button fly is much less vulgar than one constructed with a zipper when it is unfastened. And both attributes would certainly fit within my definition of "more proper" especially for use in the company of a paramour.
