iPad 3 - Page 5

I'm happy with what I've heard about it. Now I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Rumor is the iP2 covers will still work.

Data rates are up for AT and Veriz

So who is all getting one and what is your plan of attack-pre-order, apple store on launch day, wait for them to be readily available in store, etc.

I have the original iPad and I plan on getting one but most likely will wait until I can just walk in and get one. That said I hate waiting for toys.

Do you have an iPad now Rambo? I am torn about getting a 4g. Is it me or is data becoming less and less appealing? Now with throttling and tiered plans. I read today that tiered plans may become a thing of the past because companies can't keep up with the demand. With a tiered plan you have to worry about overages and with things like 1080p videos and higher res photos it will be easier than ever to eat up data.

I would like to get a 4G to be able to turn on at times when I think I need it but I do not know if I want to deal with all of the restrictions. I might even save the extra $129 and get a mifi off of ebay and then I can use it for any of my devices. So many decisions. censored.gif

I really do not want to pay for another data plan either...grrrrrr!

I had the iP2. If I had to buy a new one I'd spring for the iP3. I think the resolution is definitely worth it. Now, 3/4G is another story. I feel this is wholly dependent upon what you use it for. If I buy it for the person I used to take care of, who doesn't take it out of the building they live in, nothing more than wifi is necessary. If you're like JayJay who takes it on all business trips and knocks out work, then it'll be worth it.

Think of 4G as additional access. If you DO need it, then its worth it. If you're just going to stream Pandora then wifi is enough.

I'm glad there isn't more here that makes me feel like I'm missing out by not upgrading from the 2 to the 3. Nice improvements for those in the market, but nothing that makes me want to rush out and buy another.

Exactly how I felt.

Until I saw that the store was up...

...couldn't resist to put an order in.

It's like a disease.

See JrMouse, I'm not the only one.

I just ordered a black, 64 GB, Verizon version with a black leather cover. Upgrading from an iPad 1.

I won't stand in line, and don't plan to pre-order. If I'm as lucky as I was with the phone, I hope to get one a few days after the release. My original version is almost useless now because of the blackout issues, so I hope I can get the new one pretty quick.

Pre-order placed! Took a while. The website is really bogged down.

Retina display is going to make a lot of iPad 2 owners think otherwise. I think some people forget what a big deal it was jumping from the iPhone 3/3S to iPhone 4. The new iPad is just as dramatic a leap. For these devices the screen is the single most important part.

Having said that, if I just bought an iPad 2 it would be hard for me to stomach spending all that money again so soon. smile.gif

I don't own an iPad 2. I held out from day one knowing that we would get a high res display. The iPad 3 is going to be my first.
