Giddy, are we?

Oops. Until a minute ago, the OP said dinner tonight was at the Wayfarer Tavern. It's not. It's at Credo. The splashpage said Credo, and Credo it is. Claro?

Sorry for the mix-up.

So, Mark, dinner's at Claro? Never heard of it...

For those attending dinner, don't forget to "ohh and ahh" at your table. At your table.

Executive Chef Gustavo Romero’s unique recipes are served on tables hand-made by world-renowned Dutch craftsman Piet Hein Eek. Composed entirely of scrap wood, each table is one-of-a-kind, the product of hours of human labor and a keen devotion to sustainable design. The found wood in each table echoes the found ideas that comprise our walls.

Piet Hein Eek’s work blurs the lines between art, design, craft, and industrial production. By challenging our ideas of conventional beauty and what constitutes waste, Eek achieves a look and feel that is wholly original, rich in beauty and deeply intellectual. The found wood that makes up each of Eek’s breathtaking scrapwood tables poignantly echoes the found ideas that comprise our walls.

Anyone go to Mama's for breakfast?

Good one, Parker.

My peasant farmer grandfather made tables of scrap wood. I think if I had suggested that his rich in beauty and deeply intellectual tables poignantly echo the found ideas that comprise the walls of his hovel he would have hit me upside the head with a 2x4.

A sustainable 2x4 of course.

Scrap wood tables you say? Poor souls. I dine at a driftwood table. It has not only the hours of human labor but also the poignant hand of Mother Nature herself. It echoes of the waves and frothy sea foam.

I wonder if the chef rises to Eek's challenge of "what constitutes waste?" and matches him on the dinner plate.

Claro. I'm bummed that I can't make the dinner. I work 1/2 block away from Credo, so maybe I'll pop in for lunch as a small homage to SF's evening festivities tonight. smile.gif
