Oh, Roger... I've met the folks from both shops. Both the owners and their products impressed me. They don't have the heritage or knowledge of Charvet, etc, but they are dedicated to building building these things in their businesses. More importantly, perhaps, their ability to reach young people. For that, I'm thankful.

" means that they're rebuilding lost heritage, knowledge, and taste in society"

From scratch, it would appear.

 There's some truth to this. And I blame your generation for its loss!

Could be. But that smacks of "collective punishment"
In point of fact, I was probably one of the preppiest guys at
Woodstock- Lacoste shirt, etc. Trying to maintain standards
during the cultural tsunami. As far as "heritage or knowledge",
I don't buy it. Any idiot can familiarize themselves with the design
standards of the top of their craft by going online. Learning it is far more difficult,
especially when schools and/or apprenticeships are thousands of
miles away. Nevertheless, displaying their clients in their website in
"streetwear and denim" attire, hardly comports with their pretense of
producing bespoke dress shirts. I suppose it comes down to image.
But image in this case is probably very revelatory.

Well, I think they're catering to the generation raised with MySpace, Facebook, Styleforum WAYWRN, etc.

Not to extend this interchange too much further- which i admit I am.
Your last point implies that social media adepts include a high proportion
slobs or taste-challenged. Probably true. But are those same people into
custom or bespoke dress shirts? I'd be surprised if they were. One good
sign that the "shirt/jean collective" on Valencia St sources their bespoke
from the Gambert Clan in New Jersey- very respectable bespoke shirt
operations, who, if i remember correctly, made a formal shirt for our own
Will.

Is there a charge for the O'mast showing, or is it co-sponsored by the Armoury and W San Francisco?

There is actually a splash page here with all the details for the entire weekend.

http://blog.styleforum.net/10-years-of-styleforum/

There is a $18 charge if you purchase a ticket in advance, and $20 at the door. That barely covers your cocktail, tbh. Associated expenses include a discounted room rental, AV rental, and the travel expenses for director and producer Gianluca Migliarotti from Milan, as well as liquid refreshment.

You'd be surprised what type of people get custom clothing, I am sure of it. Specifically, I have liked references to the silhouette of the Samurai or of aikijitsui uniforms - so, often slimmer than usual tops and jackets, and more voluminous pants. In a couple of instances. I've actually asked for some custom clothing to "not fit too perfectly." Maybe it's because I'm a little jaded, and I want something a little different in those rare instances I am not in uniform (leather jacket, pullover, jeans, sneakers or chukkas.)

Through places like TS, they are getting introduced to bespoke shirts and other nice things. I've had a shirt made by them/Gambert, and it was very well done. Stop by some time. I think you'd have some great conversations w/ the guys.

Well done, Parker.

Agreed. Parker's Powerpoint and styrofoam mockup for the Edible Arrangements presentation to L.A. Guy not only portends a colorful masterpiece, but inevitably will be packed with fructose and a few antioxidents that survived the pealing of the fruits.

The six foot "fountain" of bananas in the arrangement? Superb...and a fitting homage not only to the host city, but to the assembled throng.

I can't wait to learn who eats the first banana...lefty?

Comrade?
