cheap alternative to Common Projects? - Page 4
ya those look good... nice for some beaters. where (how) did you find them? doesn't seem to be much info on their site as to make, origin, materials etc.
I think the Converse CTS OX is the closest thing you can find to a pair of achilles. attached are some pics. a great deal considering you can find the ones in black for around 20 bucks new. they both fit and look almost the same to me, but cp's do have a huge leap in quality. kind of like comparing a honda with a porsche. the cp's are much cleaner aesthetically, obviously have great materials, but are put together very well. the cons and even all the 'premium' varvatos shoes i have look downright sloppy in comparison. Just to add, i know nike sb gets a lot of flack these days, but i was just going through some older sb's and for a product mass manufactured in china, the craftsmanship is great. ive been beating my dunk low's everyday for a year now hiking up the hills and what not and they still hold up much nicer than anything else ive worn, especially any premium supra, varvatos, etc.
They are not as high quality (some color bleed and material separation around the lace holes) but the fit is so much better for me and they have padding so I actually wear them. My Achilles were well made and looked great but were some of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned.
