cheap alternative to Common Projects? - Page 4

Not sure if anyone mentioned Erik Schedins. I don't know anything about them but they look almost the same as CPs. If only Adidas would re-release the Rod Lavers in non-perforated leather. It'd be nice to have some beaters that you wouldn't have to worry too much about.

Those Schedins look good. I wouldn't call $175 "cheap" but it's a lot better than $350.

Oops, was tired and read the thread title as "cheaper". It is kind of surprising that there aren't more lower priced sneakers that look similar to the CP achilles given how basic they are.

god damn, $400 for some sneakers!!! I never heard of the company till some time last year but now realizing how expensive they are!

They're a nice clean simple sneaker. Wish I could afford a pair, they're a little different from what I'm use to wearing.

ya those look good... nice for some beaters. where (how) did you find them? doesn't seem to be much info on their site as to make, origin, materials etc.

I think the Converse CTS OX is the closest thing you can find to a pair of achilles. attached are some pics. a great deal considering you can find the ones in black for around 20 bucks new. they both fit and look almost the same to me, but cp's do have a huge leap in quality. kind of like comparing a honda with a porsche. the cp's are much cleaner aesthetically, obviously have great materials, but are put together very well. the cons and even all the 'premium' varvatos shoes i have look downright sloppy in comparison. Just to add, i know nike sb gets a lot of flack these days, but i was just going through some older sb's and for a product mass manufactured in china, the craftsmanship is great. ive been beating my dunk low's everyday for a year now hiking up the hills and what not and they still hold up much nicer than anything else ive worn, especially any premium supra, varvatos, etc. photo 1.JPGphoto 2.JPGphoto 3.JPGphoto 4.JPG

What are the best choices right now?
Wanting something similar to Achilles White and Winter Premium Black.

I sold my CPs and bought some adidas KAZUKI KURAISHI X THE SOLOIST ROD LAVER shoes for $150.00.

They are not as high quality (some color bleed and material separation around the lace holes) but the fit is so much better for me and they have padding so I actually wear them. My Achilles were well made and looked great but were some of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned.

How's the sizing on those compared to CPs?
