I've known shoehorns for as long as I can remember.
Earlier today I stopped by an Allen Edmonds shop with a female friend of mine. I was trying on some Park Avenues, and was assisted by the salesperson in putting on the shoes.
After he walked away, my friend says to me, "that was a pretty neat little tool he used there to get the shoe on."
I just stared blankly at her and said, "you mean a shoehorn?"
She stared back, just as blankly.
The (female) cashier overheard and said, "It's okay. I didn't know what a shoehorn was either until I started working here."
I was totally flabbergasted. Do people not know what a shoehorn is? Do girls not know what a shoehorn is?
What's the deal?
