Any thoughts on this suit? - Page 2

Personally, I think it's a great ensemble. Love the suit fabric, the tie, the hat. I don't have a problem with the roped shoulders and peak lapels with the patch pockets, even though it's unsual - if you look at the 5th shot down they really work. I agree that the jacket is slightly too tight, but it is only slightly and it could probably be fixed. It's as if it had been measured as if it was going to be worn snug without the vest, and then the vest was added afterwards just pushing the jacket a bit too far out. The vest, BTW, is fantastic. An unusual style these days, but classic in its own way.

My guess is that you've never had any problems in the women department

I'm not a fan.

+1. Rock on, but loosen the jacket a touch.

The button point would look better a bit lower but otherwise I like it.

I like it, I wouldn't mind the jacket a tad longer with a slightly lower buttoning point. The fabric I like, the patch pockets too. I feel the strongly roped shoulders are too much 'powerdressing' for a casual suit.

The briefcase is ace btw

Jacket's a bit too short and pulling a bit. The latter may just be your style though.

Don't make me laugh. "Big city" and "Philly" should not be used sequentially.

W, suit looks great and fits your aesthetic wonderfully. Don't change a thing.

I'm a fan of the one-button SB coat (Richard Anderson client), the peaked lapels, the patch pockets, the cloth. I am NOT a fan of the waistcoat as rendered. I'm also not a fan of the overly staged photo shoot.

Lot going on here.

1. Really like the fabric, but I think its better suited to sport coats.

2. Peak lapels and roped shoulders with the patch pockets seems a bit of a contradiction.

3. As with the above, not feeling the waistcoat

4. fit is pretty good, slight button pulling on the jacket aside

Overall it takes balls to wear, which you seem to have. As such, rock with pride.

So true ... and too bad there aren't more who can do the same. While it's not exactly what I'd do ... it's so damn much finer than 99.8% of what's out there.

good fit, good fabric, good style, bad color

The color is one of my favorite things about it. I love the subtle blue stripes.

Issues of minor fit alterations aside (which I think are largely a matter of preference at this level) I like all but one aspect: the patch pockets. I personally favor the Brit style mentality of "break one rule" and I think that the tweed does that; the patches are going too far.

In this case, I think you need to choose: Do you want a waistcoat and peak lapels or patch pockets? In my opinion those items don't go together. As long as it's a peak lapel and with the waistcoat I like the one button, but otherwise I agree it should be two.

However it's nothing if not interesting and pretty well tailored; nice job on pulling the rest of the look together, too.
