E.G. Cappelli Store now LIVE! - Page 29

When I just made my post on the special run we are currently organizing via Patrizio Cappelli, I noticed that he has included a bunch of 7 fold ties with hand rolled edges in his outlet http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/index.php?cPath=65. Not a bad deal at €100 if you like the pattern and prefer 9cm width.

Some lovely outlet ties!

7 bespoke unlined 7 folds...just arrived today from Napoli. Patrizio's ties are top quality....as is evident. Ties were all made to my specifications 154cm x 9cm 7-fold unlined. I could not be more happy with the quality and service.

That is some real pr0n right there! Thanks for sharing. Do you mind sharing links to the two ties on the far right? Are they navy and burnt orange or is my phone messing up the color scheme? Thanks.

Very nice ties.

How do you find the unlined?  There's been some discussion in  another thread about lined v unlined in terms of making decent knots, drape.

For the seven-fold unlined from Cappelli - I find the ties to drape excellently...they produce smaller knots...but the knots dimple very very well...

It depends on the material as well...his twill silk is thinner than his grenadine or the reppe...so the twill silk produces a smaller knot whereas the grenadine and reppe produce a larger knot because of the thickness of the material.

The unlined are somewhat delicate feeling...and they wrinkle after having been tied for a full day...but they lose the wrinkles just by hanging them on a tie rack for a day or two.

I cannot speak for the Cappelli 3 and 5 fold..though I do have some in the works for the future and will offer a more complete comparison then...

I have a couple Kiton lined and self-tipped 5-fold's...these produce larger knots and still drape very well...but they are much heavier....

As for lined 3-folds....I have always thought they tied good knots...but again I think this depends a lot on the type and quality of material being used...I have some 3-fold brooks brothers that tie horrible knots and I have some 3 fold charvet and brioni ties that are fantastic...and I have some 3-fold brooks brothers that are amazing too...and a couple charvet (in particular) that I don't think are worth what they charge...

I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference as well as the material being used...

edit: i also have a very lightly lined cappelli 7-fold which I like very much...its a grenadine and it ties an amazing knot

Thanks. Have been looking for a burn orange-like brown, and this one seems to match my preferences according to your pictures. My only concern is that it will be to close in color to my Sam Hober Dark Chocolate tie (https://www.samhober.com/grenadine-fina-solid-ties/dark-chocolate-grenadine-fina-silk-tie-5.html), which is slightly to dark. Decisions, decisions..

I have a dark chocolate as well...in my opinion they are completely different ties and you should have both as they are both extremely versatile.

Thanks for the answer. I just hope it's the kind of burnt orange I've been looking for.

I have Hober's dark chocolate and bitter chocolate as well. I guess I need the mid-brown Cappelli as well to close the circle. Ended up ordering the following:

http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_29&products_id=175

http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_28&products_id=164

http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_28&products_id=167

Looking forward to receive them.
