Yes, rep/repp is the term, but I avoided using it because it has caused some confusion in the past: some people erroneously think "repp" to refer to the stripes rather than to the silk's texture.

No worries and yes your right, it is certainly a misused term but probably if you said a repp weave rather than repp stripe you would hopefully be ok. Anyway that thinner twill you described is usually only used for printed silks so as long as its a woven then you are more than likely going to be ok.

Patrizio sells solid reppe silk ties so you could ask him if the regimentals use the same kind of weave. However, I doubt there are woven regimentals made of twill, they are almost always reppe bigstar[1].gif
