Grenadine grossa B5, 3-fold, self-tipped, light lining, 3.5" x 58" but with the front blade tapering slightly less than Patrizio's pattern.
Do you mind posting a picture of the madders that Patrizio sent you? There's much that isn't on the website, and I like the blue very much.
He mentioned to me that he is getting a bunch of new madders in with the fabrics we polled above. I'll post those pics if and when I get them.
Some of you are likely to have received this if you've been in recent contact with Patrizio but here are the new challis (the last set are the Drake's silk, the blue which came out brighter than I had expected so feels more Spring than fall...still good).
All questions should go to Patrizio of course, but it's nice to have had some input on the fabrics.
Some nice madders are coming in, apparently, in a couple of weeks. If I get pics, I'll post as well.
These are "Drake's" silk. The right is exactly as Drake's had it but I'm finding the sky blue a bit brighter in Patrizio's version of left. I'm getting it, but it will be a S/S tie instead of F/W.
Yes, some of the differences might be photography. I think the green will really be great as a "faux-madder" and the left a nice transitional tie into Spring and at the end of the summer. I'm interested to see how muted or not the sky blue is (it's more muted on the site you are posting pics from).
While Cappelli's are not cheap, I think one should have a few and at the current exchange rate, it's about 90 dollars for tipped ties (one might have to pay duties though, about 7-12% I've found). For a bespoke tie of great quality, that is a high value ratio especially when you consider Drake's RTW on sale are are often more than that.
