Isaia suit for $2000

Gentlemen, advice needed.

I have read enough threads here to understand that there are major deals to be had on ebay,ehaberdasher or with nitro, topshelfapparel etc if you have the time and the luck to find something in your size.

However, just saw a terrific flannel SB dark grey pinstriped suit at a respected store in PA (no sales tax on clothes here) down from $2999 to $1999. Have been trying to push them to reduce it more, offering to buy a Canali from them as well (also on sale) but they seem uninclined to budge.

The dilemma is that this Isaia in particular sits on my as if it were made for me (in the three way mirror I was shocked to see

how perfect a fit it was).

I know the price is high, especially compared to some deals I could find with a bit more patience but in the end

I also know that

the main in thing is to buy a suit one loves rather than to buy a suit because it is a good deal. 

So the question is am I getting a lousy deal at $1999 or have some of you guys purchased Isaia at similar prices?

If the fit is really good, and you like the suit, then IMO it's a good deal. A third off is not bad at all. Go for it.

You should buy it if you can afford it, $1999 is not bad at all from Isaia, I will buy it if you need a warm suit.

A great fitting suit is hard to find at any price. You are getting a third off. That is good. If you need a suit, buy it and enjoy it.

Couldnt you get a custom suit from Mina in that price range?

Perhaps, but if the fit is that good, what's the point. Isaia that fits perfectly is pretty tough to beat.

OP, if the suit was $500 or even $800 less, would that really make much of a difference to you? If not, buy it and wear it in good health. If so, note the model and cloth and spend some time to see if you can save the money. Retailers are gearing up for Spring/Summer and the Winter season stuff will be getting cleared out. But know that there is a good chance you will not see that suit in your size at a much better price.

I've seen Saks Off Fifth carrying Isaia suits for $700-$800 range, all staple colors and stripes, but if you love it how it fits on you and you can afford it, by all means go for it if you need it now, otherwise I'd wait it out.

If you don't own another warm suit and must have this one because of how it fits, then purchase it. I would not spend $2k for a suit that I will wear sparingly for 2 months and then put away until November, unless I have $$$ to burn.

Gentleman thanks for your input...

Am leaving town to go to Canada for a week and so it gives me time to do a little looking around and if it is still there when I get back perhaps it is meant to be.

Taxgenius, I am not yet familiar with Mina but will certainly look it up.

JChance you make a valid point. Was thinking much the same myself.

I mean, $1999 doesn't seem to be an awful deal but it certainly isn't a deal to proudly display on SF.

On a slightly different note.

Has anyone of you ever figured out how come some online sellers (nitro in particular) still carry Gianluca Isaia Napoli labeled suits and jackets?

Was under the impression that line has been discontinued for some years and is now simply the red labeled ISAIA.

Should that be cause for concern if buying online? Or is it possible that inventory can sit that long before it gets passed on in the system?

Have never bought online before and would hate to get a fake because I didn't know better:)
