How many shoes are enough???

So I am turning 22 years old this month and have worked in a shoe department of a very well known company. I admit I am a shoe whore and I have acquired some "nice" shoes for my age. I recently went through my closet and realized I have roughly 30 pairs of "nice" shoes. AE, BM platinums, Ferragamo's (a couple tramezza's) mostly their lavorazione line, Santoni's (FAM) and a couple magnanni's and mezlan (platinum double monk croc) for a bit more fashion forward look. I am more than willing to take pictures of what I have for everyone to get a feel of what shoes I like. I am a little all over the place... Let me know if you like or dislike any of these, or if you want the style name. I think I know all of them save a few. I know everyone is going to bash the BM's... O well.

I know these aren't your CJ or JL, but I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a brand I can try next or even more specifically what model. I tend to me a sucker for double monks.

Sorry a couple pairs needed a shine but I was too lazy to do that before taking the pictures.

How did this thread go unnoticed and unresponded to?
A wonderful post and nice shoe wardrobe. Beautifully maintained and photographed. Thank you for sharing.

I'm envious. That's quite a collection. And as Man of Lint said, very beautifully maintained.

They are enough if you plan to wear them but not if you want to build a collection.

Very nice but some need to go eg the mocassins, the AEs, the single monks and the corrected grain/patent leather jobs and that will clear the way for more stuff. Please don't refer to yourself as a shoe whore...the word is tragic.

I think you need more monkstraps and loafers! Nice collection.

Whats up with single monks? Just bought a pair...am I no longer with it?

As a 22 years old, the shoes you had is very good. Loving the white and Brown single monk

I'd say you have more than enough. I recently sold most of my shoes and am happy to only have these. I had about 40 pairs and felt like a moron. Obviously work and fun are generalizations. Styles are very simple but the quality and lasts are great.

Work
One black plain captoe oxford (G&G)
One black half brogue oxford (C&J)

One Brown plain captoe oxford (JLP city 2, should have bought phillip 2)
One Brown half brogue oxford (Vass)

oasics for the gym

Fun
JM Weston 180 Loafers dark brown

Tan Suede bucks (Sanders)
Brown Suede brogues (Sanders)
suede chukka boots (Alden)

Plain white supergas
Swims "mobster" for rain

...

This is still probably more than the average person but I think far less than average SFer. If I were to add one it would be Black lobb loafers or some kind of suede oxford, but I've had those in the past and not worn them. FYI for whatever reason monkstraps don't seem to fit me well. I may buy some Chelsea boots someday as well.

Nice collection, but I'd get rid of those split toe lace-ups.

JayJay Is that personal preference? I really like those toes myself. They are so meaty. Love 'em.

Thanks for the feedback! The split toes are one of my favorites! I am thinking about wearing the double monk crocs as my wedding shoes. Haven't worn them once yet and am excited

You might take a look at G&G and Edward Green.

You really don't NEED any more shoes, do you?

Perhaps your 401k or other savings should take priority for a while? shog[1].gif

At your age you can make a huge impact on your long term future by starting NOW.
