Ok guys easy... I returned yesterday from Budapest, i have to say that Budapest is beautiful but an empty city (very nice buildings and architecture but not really exploited) and i really don't like too much to deal with people there, it seems to me that they don't like too much tourists. (except VASS of course)
I went to Budapest first time just before christmas and talked with Rezso, a kind of sales man at VASS (that's the guy who answers if you send e-mail to them) he speaks english very well. At that time i have already 1 F last and 2 U last shoes. I talked with him and asked him if it'd be more confortable to get bespoke shoes and he replied me that it depends to my feet, if i have very normal feets then i won't notice any differents. Some poeple were saying that VASS discourages to get bespoke but this is not true, the guy said there is no reason to pay expensive if you have normal feets and i agree with him.
The shoes that the made for me was beautfiul as expected from VASS, it's an F last. When i wore the shoes i noticed that they are really tight. Actually the reason is not they were tight but first of all it's my 'exact' measurements and my all other shoes were all larger than that one. I walked and stand alone 10 to 15 minutes in the store talking to guy and ended up with the conclusion that they are almost perfect to my measurements. Indeed when i tried one foot with shoes made for me and other one normal 43, the difference was easy to notice so i decided to order another 3 'bespoke' shoes.
VASS bespoke or not bespoke ?
--I explained this discussion to the guy and he replied me that truely their shoes are not full bespoke as you should choose an existing last and model (maybe model could be changed i am not sure) But the reason that they are no offering a full bespoke is a cost issue as Mr. Vass saying that we can not offer this service for 600 E. My conclusion is that they don't want to inflate the price of the shoes and keep them at reasonable level (honestly 3000E for a pair of shoes is too much even that i am banker, if i earn more than 30000 E per month i would think but other wise too expensive) I have to say that i also agree with them, at least for the time being now i am thinking to order their existing models and i don't have any problem with that. The price quality ratio there is more than excellent.
--One thing that even i didn't like is the fact that they don't offer custom made shoe trees, they put the one which fits better. The guy told me that they want to change it but one guy (or company i don't know) who makes good shoe trees with customized versions have already a lot of customers and they don't accept any new customer. But they are looking for a way to offer shoes with custom shoe trees.
My conclusion is if you want shoes at these price level, VASS is not good, it's the best. I have CJ shoes and as a person who doesn't know too much about shoe making i feel the difference even when i touch the shoes. And if you can negotiate the price VASS is not more expensive than CJ...
