What Car?. Opinions upto $35k approx - Page 3

Do yourself a favor and test drive the new 3 series coupe. Yes, much smaller than a wagon, but great rear seat legroom, and an *incredible* car. The performance (almost) of last year's M3 without the price tag or (hopefully) insurance costs. These have been out for several months so it will take some looking to find one used, but man oh man what an incredible driving situation -- and BMW maintenance for the first few years. You'd need to find a stripped down version to hit your price point, but worth a look.

I have one of these (2004) and love it. It's my first wagon and a far cry from the huge wood-paneled wagon my aunt drove when I was a kid....

How about an Infiniti G35 Coupe? That's what I drive, it's a pretty fun machine play with.

The new 335i coupe starts at $40K, so it's $5K out of his price league. I priced a 335i online and it came out to $45K (leather, premium, sports package, 6-speed manual). The good thing about BMW's and especially 3-series is that their lease rates are usually very good when compared to Audi and Mercedes. That being said, I would think that an A4 Avant would be the best way to go, and don't scrimp and get the very worthwhile $250 sports suspension.

Something people don't think about when looking at prices of the BMWs is factoring in the 50,000 maintenance, free oil changes, brakes, fluids, everything that needs to be replaced. Once you buy the car, the next 4 years or 50,000 miles is worry free and not going to cost you a dime, the only thing you would have to buy is tires.
