Defensible, but you better also have a substantial car advantage if you want to win any championships.

It would appear that we will have one less team next year. More drivers looking for work.

F1: HRT not featured in the official FIA entry list of teams for 2013

Someone will buy them and enter. Gone for sure are the days of pre-qualifying. Man, slim grid. I think a 26 car grid is better.

They missed the entry deadline. To my knowledge, this means that any buyer would be coming in as a completely new entry.

I'm sure Bernie would ease it, he doesnt want just 11 teams.

Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo has heavily criticised Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone in the wake of the Brazilian Grand Prix controversy.

Last week, Ecclestone, 82, called Ferrari's request for clarification on whether world champion Sebastian Vettel had overtaken illegally "a joke".

Di Montezemolo, 65, said: "We must respect the elderly, especially when they can no longer control their words.

"Seniority is often incompatible with certain roles and responsibilities."

Ecclestone told BBC Sport: "The one thing he is correct about is my age - there is no doubt about that.

"I can't do anything about that. I'm 82 years old and that's how it is."

In reference to Di Montezemolo's recent attempts to become involved in Italian politics, he added: "I suppose it's the same sort of thing that's happened to him recently in politics, where people have been quite rude about him.

Brilliant vid.... Newey drives 2 F1 cars:

Quote:
David Coulthard joins Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey at Silverstone as they put two of the cars he designed through their paces.

The duo get their hands on the Leyton House March from 1988 that was driven by Ivan Capelli and the 2009 RB6.

A nervous Christian Horner watches on from the pit lane as Newey shows no fear when at the wheel of the Red Bull.

That Leyton House as well as the 7up Jordan were 2 of the best looking race cars ever. Didn't know Newey designed the Leyton House. Was a good car back in the day.

When will Bernie finally step down? Worse than David Stern.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. He insists on paying only the top ten teams, so of course teams eleven and twelve struggle. There's no reason for any team to struggle to pay the bills. It's understandable to hold a new team's funds in escrow until the end of the first year if you want to ensure they make a legitimate effort, but the current system is just stupid. No other sport is run this way.

^^ You're right. The rules are structured in a way that 10 teams will survive. He's forcing it down to 10 using the payout. Forgot that it was only for the top 10.
