Love handles

What's the most effective way to get rid of love handles?
Bikram Yoga once a day for a month. It will get rid of your love handles. It got rid of mine. It has to do with those postures that specifically uses the oblique muscles or the constant abdominal contractions. It's what works for me. The ab machines in the gym works the upper abs but does not get rid of the love handles. If you're in L.A. they have several studios. Check them out!

I'm no expert but I think the only thing you can do is keep losing weight until they are gone. Spot reduction (trimming body fat in a specific area) is not possible aside from liposuction.

To lose "love handles" you would need to shed body fat. Losing weight is not body part specific. In other words, tweaking your diet and excercise would be key to shedding unwanted body fat.

Thanks guys.

As for the yoga referral, thanks, but I just don't have the time to be able to do it every day; in fact, beyond eating and sleeping, there's very little I can do, with certainty, every day.

It should also be noted that different people store fat differently. Some individuals may lose a considerable amount of weight and still sport significant handles. Body-type and genetics will largely dictate your success. Good luck.

Diet and exercise. I store a lot of fat on my lower back and I can't stand it. The rest of me is really lean though so it's even more frustrating. I think you can do your best to diet it away, but if it still bothers you your best bet is probably cosmetic surgery. Or just accept that you're a guy and hey, we're lumpy.

Yeah. And most men have that last stubborn fat layer around their waists (lower back, belly, love handles). Like you have been already told, you need to diet hard enough. Your stubborn fat is last to go, but when it truly starts to go it will go fast.

here's a workaround: Build up your soulders. If you get broad up top, your midsection will be visually narrowed by comparison. Do lotsa push-ups and pull-ups if you can't make it to the gym or yoga place.

True, and the worst part is, if you build up your obliques (like the woman is doing below) then the fat will sit up higher on a layer of muscle and the handles will look even bigger.

Interestingly, as Vanity notes, my upper body (shoulders, upper back, chest, arms and even abs) are in damn fine shape. In fact, but for the lower back fat, I'd be a model of fitness, if not a fitness model.

I have to agree with the bikram yoga advice, even if you only do it once a month. It's the only thing I know of too that targets love handles and lower abs! Or try pilates. Along with a good diet needless to say.

The girl in the photo posted above has not overworked her obliques.
