They're actually EMT pants but in theory they could be made with fancier fabric and look like dress pants.
If you're interested and don't get what I mean, I can post pics.

The waistband of my MTM Hart Schaffner & Marx suit pants have this (well, one rubberish line)...

Grenadier is likely thinking of the Duck's button-in briefs. I understand he favored this approach because, without it, he often misplaced his briefs. This failing, which contributed in no small measure to his abdication, is given rather extensive treat in Madonna's new flick.

Have your shirts tailored a bit longer (or buy them from the tall section of the big&tall store) and get trousers with narrower crouch depth.

Having a set distant below the belly button is not the correct way to think. One reason is because those buttons are not all set at the same location.

If people object to braces showing it is their problem. The rules of Britain don't rule the rest of the world and some of the rules of the past are long gone, anyway. Some people live by outdated rules.

You know, I'd be willing to fight a duel over what you just said. But just to first blood--to the death is so passé.

Get used to braces with odd trousers, it is not that unusual or reprehensible.

Where is Eric Gleenie when you need him????

Have your tailor sew on some of that anti-slip rubber material on the inside of the waistband of the pants. This material will grip the shirt and will aid in keeping everything in place.

Isn't this what long ties are for?
