I've always been naturally skinny, hovering around 145-150 at 5'11.

Over the course of about a year and a half, due to many factors, managed to get up to fuckin 190.

Easiest way to lose the weight?

EC is no miracle cocktail, and the A is wholly unnecessary in there.

Its not so much eating, as it is drinking beer I think. Which I will cut down on.

Just keep in mind, the more you cut the quicker you will lose the weight. Also have to do it in a manner that's sustainable over a long period of time, because it's going to take a while to lose all that weight.

Try Weight Watchers. They have an on line program geared towards men. It really educates you about how much to eat and gives flavorful options. If you have added that much weight in a year, you need to understand more about what you eat and drink. Good luck.

This diet was once commonly referred to as sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. It was the routine that kept people consistently thin up until the early 90's. But then it became popular to just say no to drugs and nicotine, rock n' roll died, and people got too fat to ********.

Beer and other booze is my problem. I can diet the whole week, but come the weekend it all falls apart. :embar:

I'm in a similar boat to you. I want to lose 10-15 pounds of fat that I put on in the past year.

For me, It's the beer.

When I want to drink, do vodka and water with ice. Taste is okay, calories are low.

I'm not an exercise freak, nor am I a dietician, but I was in a similar state when I was finishing my first book. I had packed on 20 pounds I didn't need.

I cut out ALL bread, pasta, as well as starches and sugars that came from anything but raw, natural fruit. Then I started walking four or five miles a day along with weightlifting at home. I lost the 20 pounds in two months.

My brother in law, a physician, confirmed what I guess I already knew: my body learned how to use fat for energy again rather than relying on the carbs, while the exercise increased my overall metabolic rate.

Easy peasy.

Sazerac has it basically right.

1. Cut out all bread, pasta, rice.

2. Run long distances at a very slow pace. I mean 4.5 on a treadmill or even a notch lower.

3. Limit your caloric intake to 1400/day. Make them quality calories. If anyone tells you this isn't enough calories to sustain health, tell them they don't know what they're talking about. Do not take in any calories within two hours of sleep.

That's it. Take a high quality fish oil every day. If you don't fall off the wagon, the pounds will drop off fast, especially since your body is used to being at the lower weight. One more thing -

4. Hardest part ( for me). If you were 145 - 150 at 5'11", it means that you don't do much weight training. The # 2 thing that guys do not do as they get older (other than keep the gut off) is work to maintain (and in your case, increase) muscle mass. You really should do some weight training. Losing weight fast will necessarily take a bit of muscle mass with it (although if you are careful you can limit this). Muscle burns fat.

And sorry, you can't drink that much.

Certainly restricting your caloric intake will help in large and important ways, but I personally didn't have the will power for it. I managed to lose the weight anyway. It's possible I was actually cutting caloric intake by simply eschewing the vast amounts of bread and pasta.

The weights, though -- man, that felt great. I think a lot of guys misunderstand weightlifting and think it's all about getting huge. The endorphin rush I get from it is like nothing else. I don't know what role that played in weight loss, but it sure didn't hurt.
