Beeswax Desert Boot - Not Clarks

Is there a brand of desert boot in beeswax someone can recommend that isn't made in China or Vietnam? I'm interested in Clarks', but am willing to pay a little more for a better boot.

If this is the case, just look into something like Whiskey cordovan Chukka from Alden. It will be more than 'a little' though, but quality is much superior.

A true beauty. I saw that piece of art on a WAYWT thread. Unbelievable.

I need something I can beat up and distress, but would be willing to resole and treat. Those are too beautiful for daily wear, and Clarks' sound like throwaways these days.

I have a pair of MTO chukkas from Trickers coming. Like the Aldens, they are more than just a "little bit" more. But if you are a person who buys shoes only once every so often (like, one pair of non-kicks a year), something like the Aldens or Trickers (Richard from www.shoehealer.co.uk is great to work with) are well worth it. Also worth it if you are mint.

i believe hes looking for something suede beeswax.

 

mainly, the clarks are suede.

 

the alden one is too nice and is made of leather. something more casual.

alden has some leathers that are similar to the beeswax in clarks, i.e.: vintage oiled nubuck or reverse chamois

If the OP wants something to beat up and distress, a great choice would be the NXL leather from Alden.

Couldn't find "NXL leather" online. Link?

I am not looking for suede, as I already have a pair of dark brown suede chukkas. I see beeswax boots worn with Levis jeans and some chinos that I own on the actual online ads, and I think they look great for casual wear... and look just brilliant with age and wear & tear.

So basically you're looking for a clarks style beeswax desert boot, but not from clarks? If you're not willing to let a pair of alden/red wings/other similar quality boots wear out, then I would say clarks db are your best bet.

I'd like one too. I bought a Gorilla one, but I find it is too stiff and I miss the crepe sole.
