New Bass shoes, chisel or square toe?

Hello styleforum. My first post, and I come humbly seeking advice. I know that square toed shoes are generally reviled in the fashion community, however I rather impulsively bought a pair of burgundy Bass shoes on clearance under the impression that they were chisel toe. I just would like to know how acceptable/unacceptable you guys think they are before I break in/return for a wing tip. Thanks in advance!

I don't know what those are (square-toed boots?) but they are quite bad. I would return them and do some reading up on shoes on this site (wary of questionable advice from new members as of late).

Square toed, as it happens I am polishing some chisels at the moment. Chisels are a bit like winklepickers but squared off on the toe for about an inch or so.

I quite like those boots but I would only wear them with jeans or maybe whitesh chinos cropped a little short, but not too short

Oh my. Yes, they look decent with a pair of dark jeans, but plans are already in effect to return them to the outlet tomorrow for a nice pair of brown wingtips. Thanks for the info men.

Maybe you should post a pic of the brown wingtips you'll be getting.

Sorry, meant oxford, not wing tip (you can tell I'm a shoe newbie. Shewbie?) Pic is actually Dockers but they're nearly identical:

So if you'd been told here that they were in fact chisel toes you'd have decided you like them and would keep them?

Touché, however that's why I'm here isn't it? Trying to me more fashion conscious, and was on the fence about these. I figured let more knowledgable men than I decide whether or not these were "acceptable."

For the record though, I don't hate them, and still am somewhat foggy on what makes something like that horrible, hence my question.

That's because you don't realize how much better shoes can look yet. Look through some of the shoe threads here.

Chisel toes have an edge to them. Without the edge it is just square toes.
