Do deep-V, fitted, light gray WOOL undershirts exist? Is there any reason not to want one?

Well I'm with thread starter.

Obviously you haven't tried a wool undershirt. It can help you stay both warm and cool, and it resists odours better than most other fabrics. Further more a wool baselayer is almost invisible compared to other choices.

I had the same train of thought at one time so when they came out with supermicro wool undershirts several years ago I tried one in the summer. They even advertised it as great for both cold and hot weather. It was 72°F and I cut the grass wearing it as a test, I sweated miserably in it. Great in theory however it was still too much insulation. I only wear wool socks no matter what time of year. But even in the winter when hunting 8-12 miles a day I use wicking liners underneath the wool. And a wicking base layer on the rest of my body.

A polypro wicking base is the old standard and they have gotten better especially for odor retention but Polar Fleece now has a powerdry that works well too. Spent much of 20 years near the equator and a lot of time in the Gulf off that hell hole of a sandbox in the Engineroom of ships. Would have to literally pour the sweat out of my boots before leaving the pit. Cotton T-shirts were the norm but needed a breeze to evaporate the sweat because of the humidity down there. Now for upper body I just settle on 100% cotton in the summer. For the most part I avoid cotton in the field, it can kill you in the winter when your wet. But it does have it's place in the summer IMO. Wish I could have had Terramar boxer briefs back then, even cooler than micro wool. They also make a poly undershirt that works well in the heat but haven't seen a V-neck version.

I'm with the OP here too.  I got a couple of RedRam wool undershirts and they're fantastic.  They're owned by the Icebreaker company, I think.  I have some from both brands and the RedRam fit my long torso much better.

I even wear them under my OR scrubs and don't get too hot or too cold.

Icebreaker made v necks in their beast line in bone, light gray and charcoal, the season I bought them. Both long and short sleeve. I don't know if they stil make them, but I'm sure you can check with them.  You most certainly can not have mine.

IceBreaker is great, but don't forget about Ibex.  Love Smartwool, too, but the quality seems to be down the last few years. 

I, too, will only wear wool underwear. Why o why aren't there more wool dress socks and tshirt options?!
