Actually.... I think the picture that ended Jill's days on matchmaker.com 7 long years ago was far less sartorially sophisticated and even contained a detached hand on my shoulder belonging to, in Potteresque terms, She Who Must Not Be Named. Head was straight, smiling...   Jill just said "You looked calm, in control and strong - not in a macho way but in a relaxed and confidant way - I had no idea what a spaz you really were" FWIW as weird as online shopping for dates sounds neither I nor Jill had the time or inclination for the club scene back then and it was handy to be able to narrow down 5000 profiles to 50 through the search criteria then weed through the pictures and narrow it down to 20, then read the profiles to determine whether the person had minor beneficial features like a brain and a sense of humor and then go out with 10 or so.   Took getting used to but it was a wonderful screening process - might as well eliminate those you deem fatally flawed up front.  The tricky part was that I was going out with Jill and one of her best friends... a fact they deemed too humorous to share immediately. How is the online dating scene these days?  I don't miss the single life one little bit
I had the same thing happen to me, I went out with my wife (for the first time) and a girlfriend of hers from work in the same week. My wife says she actually only went out with me because she wanted to tell me off for dating two girls from the same office at the same time - lukily it worked out. I found on line dating to be very effective, but it still can be tiring and draining.

I dated one girl whom I met online and it was a disaster. Makes me barfy just thinking about it. However, your method of narrowing them down with search criteria and stuff seems much better than mine going off of picture alone

sounds like a good idea. i've met several girls online, but not for dating, and not on dating sites(don't wanna pay for those. ) usually people are nothing like how i percieved them in their pix/profile at first. heres one of my fav. pix of me. i added the background in and self taken of course.
