I wasn't even aware the orange/green thing really had any significance outside of Ireland and the occasional American parade or bar.

During the Spring of 1996 that exact shade of orange was the hot clothing color in Paris. I did not understand a Huguenot sympathy to be at play, but I could be wrong.

Speaking of Ireland, I found "FREE ULSTER" graffiti on an alleway wall in Assisi (might have been Ancona) last year. It was bizarre.

It probably doesn't, though I think of William of Orange as one of the great champions of the Protestant faith.
