Spray tanning, anyone tried it?

I used to use the old tanning bed back in the college days, until I realized how bad it was for you. Been thinking for a while about trying some sort of spray tanning but have no idea how well it works. DO NOT want to look orange, i.e., Jersey Shore status. Just looking for a healthy looking glow, something barely noticeable.

Anyone tried it? any suggestions on what to look for? worth the extra $$$ to have a human hand spray instead of a both?

I've got to admit i've had a couple of spray tans! Nothing orange looking though, just a light glow and people can never tell it's fake. I'd suggest getting a human hand spray tan just because I think it's probably more accurate.

Nice, thinking about giving it a try, sick of looking ghostly this time of the year but also dont want to look real tan, jsut a tad of color, will probably go with level 1 (guess they have level 1-3)... checked locally, they seem to have Versa and Mystic Tan both around $20-$25 a go, and then one palce had custom aribrushing (done by hot girls) for like $35 i think it was..

Tried it twice. Fantasy tan.

I would definitely recommend the hand-spray over the booth. While the booth is cheaper, you may not get the results you are after (streaks, missed spots, etc). Hand spray tan allows you the flexibility to work with your spray tan technician to achieve the color level you want. You can also ask the technician to go back over any spots that might be light or need extra color, etc.

Sure, you will pay more for a custom spray tan, but not much more. I run a spray tan salon (that's all we do!) in Southern California and we charge $29 for a custom spray tan for first time clients.

Best of luck to you and your spray tan!

tried it a few times years ago. the technology may have improved since then, but i doubt it.

1) it never looks natural
2) it stains your clothes orange

Unless you are shirtless a lot around others, just use a product at home for your face, neck, and upper chest.

You also need to realize that you should never use this to look "tan." Just use it to not look so pale.

How about instead of trying to look it actually be healthy, brah. And if you go outside enough everyday, like going for a run, you'll get a natural healthy tan anyway.

This always struck me as the type of thing someone does for a special occasion. Good friend of mine did it for her wedding, but it's not like she plans to keep at it. Plus, don't they fade after a few days?

I would rather just look pale than risk anyone finding out that I was the sort of the person who would consider using spray tan.

Not being tan is fine, but you don't want to have the basement dweller pale going.

what's wrong with basement dweller pale? it's just how you are

Sure, live where its 20 everyday and go 'out' for a run....

Anyway, tried it, went great, used versaspa, looks great, very natural, just gives a healthy glow, perfect coverage, no streaking anywhere, no dark spots, not even family memebers have mentioned anything so it must look extremely natural (didnt go for the darkest treatment), on day 4? hasnt really faded at all yet. Girl said it should last about 9 days... will prob. do it again every now and then. Def. reccomend it tho.
