HELP WITH MY LIVING ROOM FURNISHING

Hello,

 

I am furnishing my apartment from scratch and desperately need advice.

 

Below is a rendering of my living room/dining area. There are no accents yet, as we are only buying furniture at this stage.

 

I need to make a decision about the coffee table; which has been frustrating me.

 

PLEASE HELP ME!

 

We recently purchased the design within reach Line console.

 

then a week later we saw the Ligne Roset Ponton coffee table and loved it.

 

The problem: that they are extremely similar and may be TOO similar.

 

Please tell me what you think.

You can probably get away with keeping both, but balance it with some darker and lighter pieces and perhaps some metals and colored textilws to keep it from looking too "mid century modern". Also, try to vary the timeframe of your pieces so you have a nice mix of old and new. You don't want your place to look like some Apartment Therapy spread where everything was bought at Design Within Reach or IKEA.

Is this what Apartment Therapy is like now?

That's too bad. Back in my day we would throw a thrift store bauble or two and maybe a folk art bed or something utilitarian in with our DWR and Ikea Apartment Therapy spreads.

We still have not made a decion regarding the Ligne Roset Table.

 

I am trying to find other options, as Ligne does not allow any returns whatsoever.

 

If anyone can suggest nice walnut coffee tables I would be super appreciative!
