Working all day on a floor of an open high rise while 6 guys are throwing up rock using screw guns and 2 more chop metal studs with an abrasive saw will have you wondering" if you had a gun............?

Its probably for sound requirements or something. That or it really requires craftsman to put up walls and keeps people from diy. Ive done some patching and it can be fun and informative to patch, but there is no way I could do a whole wall.

There was a system they used for awhile between plaster and drywall. Instead of wood lath

a perforated sheet rock was nailed to the studs and then plaster over that . It was before my time but I encountered on remodels every now and then

Why not until late 20th C. people figured out that walls should be built of wooden sticks and pressed recycled cardboard instead of bricks, hmmm. "Progress."

Yesterday I ordered some prefinished maple ply to make cabinets for our new bedroom and bathroom. If they turn out decently, I'll post pics...

The door levers for the upstairs rooms arrived

Currently the knobs are a mishmash of really cheap stuff.  But there were two glass knobs that were probably original to the house.

We'll be using them on the main floor for two doors off the entrace hallway.
