Okay, I'll be buying these unlocked. Prices are from NewEgg. I'll only buy from a reputable store. Used is an option I'd entertain, but there's not much out there on ebay.

S2 is 559.99
Nexus is 689.99
Note is 699.99

Yes, they're pricey, but I lost my contract phone and need a replacement.

I had an S2. It was almost too light for me, but worked great.

Nexus seems good, but is 130 bucks more.

Note seems like an awesome device, but think I'll look like a complete tool carrying around a device that big.

What do you think?

I just got the s2 skyrocket and I'm pretty happy with it, though there is an HD version that's coming out soon that would have been nice to have but my phone broke and i needed a new one.

I know... I owned the S2. But to buy it new, for 560 bucks... especially being that it's nearly a year old device, I'm not sure if it's worth it. I could just pay another 130 bucks and get the newest bestest but with a worse camera and slightly worse battery life. ug I hate technology decisions.

Might be cheaper for you to terminate your contract and then sign a new one, depending on when your phone was last upgraded.

I am going to check the Note when it comes out but probably going to go with the S2 Skyrocket HD whenever that comes out. Would be my first android after owning every iPhone. Not real happy with the 4S and not waiting 8 months to see what Apple comes out with. That would put me half way through another upgrade.

Great idea... I didn't even think of that!

I'm in Chile though, so I'm dealing with Entel Chile. I'll definitely look into just cancelling my contract.

Have a feeling it's not going to be worth it... I'm only about 5 months into an 18 month contract.

The s2 may be the oldest of the three, but its also the best! The nexus has a higher resolution screen though.

You can soon upgrade the operating system of the s2 to the latest version (ice cream sandwich) the same as the nexus.

Nexus has my vote. ICS is amazing, and the build quality feels better to me.

The Note is a huge thing. Do you have large pockets? I'd go for the Nexus rather than the S2, because it's not got the useless Samsung junk on it.
