Just to keep matters in perspective, you can get not just gorilla costumes, but dedicated "Bigfoot" costumes for $100.

Yeah, it's interesting. Just about every night we can see marvelous footage of elusive wild animals on Animal Planet, National Geo and elsewhere, yet almost every "Bigfoot" video is blurry, has lots of camera shake, with the "creature" conveniently obscured by a lot of brush, etc. And why were the guys in the last video yakking throughout? If you're afraid of the BF, STFU. Likewise, if you want to get a good image, STFU!

... and ridiculous.

I've seen portions of it while channel surfing.

One episode while hunting them at night.  One guy made a primal noise.  A 'squatch' call.  A sound came out of the woods.  They all exclaimed - That's a squatch!!!

Another one recently.  They were interviewing a man who apparently saw one squatting in his deck.  The expert, stated, matter of factly, that a sasquatch, when confronted by a human, will stay still, squat and try not to be noticed.  You can't made this shit up.

Sure, some if its hokey, but Oxford university is studying the physical evidence. They are also reviewing the claim that a guy killed one and took a flesh sample.

Even Jane Goodhall is sure they exist:

That link doesn't say what you think it means.

Researchers from Oxford University and the Lausanne Museum of Zoology are asking anyone with a collection of cryptozoological material to submit descriptions of it. The researchers will then ask for hair and other samples for genetic identification.

"I'm challenging and inviting the cryptozoologists to come up with the evidence instead of complaining that science is rejecting what they have to say," said geneticist Bryan Sykes of the University of Oxford.

That's not a case of Oxford "studying the physical evidence." Mostly because there is no physical evidence. It's a case of some guy at Oxford daring these fruitbats to come forward with their best evidence so he can shoot it down, probably in a hilariously written journal piece that will get him tenure or an in to sleep with hot coeds.

It's the same kind of thing as James Randi's Prize of a million to whoever can prove supernatural powers. He's not studying the evidence, he's daring fruitbats to come forward because he knows it's all bunk.

What's that? Oh I think it's the sound of idfnl getting bitch slapped by Harvey.
