The problem with your logic is the LOL factor that prevents scientists from studying the possibility. It doesn't get taken seriously, and nobody will risk the potential humiliation.
Also, forest decomposition happens at a very high rate. Try finding a dead deer carcass in the woods. Couple that with the potential rarity of the animal.
Again, if its real, its likely that anything that is found is mistaken for a different animal.
If we want an answer, put some serious science into it. In the mean time, that show is fun.
