Cannot decide between these, need a black comfortable one, would probably go full retail unless someone shares a secret

I really like the St. Crepin. I bought a black pair, and it has become my favorite oxford.

In terms of black monks, I like these even better: Edward Green Oundle. More timeless.

Here's a similar angle to the EG's. I find the EG's to be more subtle and elegant. The buckle has a nice old school style about it. The curves are also nice and rounded. The Jermyn III is more sharp, sleek and modern all around.

Many thanks

Neiman Marcus private night sale will get you 25% off. That's usually when I buy my JL shoes. You just have to wait 4 months to get them afterwards.

ty david. i don't like the style in general but prefer the nicer last shape of the JL's. i agree the EG buckle is nicer, though.

none of them is a st. crepin, right?

In that style monk I actually like what Alfred Sargent did with their MTO Benson:

I am not a fan of mixing brogue and buckle.

Therefore, my preference is the initial poster's black monk-strap.

Ciao !

Many thanks - choice is limited to JL at the moment, they have a store in Dubai where I live (learnt hard way not to buy shoes without trying)

Also don't know why but JL attract me like no other shoes ...

Though I've seen them both in person, would greatly appreciate if someone can post pics of them wearing (pls excuse my poor english)
